This article is intended as an overview. If you need to set up the integration from scratch, we recommend following the full setup guide step by step. E-conomic
Improved customer matching
The options for which system controls the creation of customer data are the same as before. You can still choose whether TimeLog or e-conomic should control the creation of customers.
The difference in the updated integration is that you can now enable the checkbox “Allow TimeLog to automatically link customers with matching VAT no. and create customer contacts when transferring invoices to e-conomic TimeLog A/S”. When this setting is selected, TimeLog first searches for customers and contacts that can be linked based on matching data points when you transfer an invoice to e-conomic. If e-conomic is selected as the controlling system, TimeLog will not create a new customer card.
New customer cards are only created if TimeLog is selected as the controlling system for customer data. When customers are linked, no customer data is transferred from TimeLog to e-conomic; they are only connected.
Transfer invoice specifications as PDFs
You can choose whether the invoice specification from TimeLog should automatically be transferred to e-conomic together with the invoice. When the feature is enabled, the invoice specification is attached as a PDF to the invoice draft in e-conomic.
This gives finance teams better documentation of what is included in the invoice without requiring users to manually download and attach the specification.
More flexible product number setup
The updated integration gives you more options for controlling which e-conomic product numbers should be used on invoice lines from TimeLog. You can import and activate product numbers from e-conomic and then use them as default values for different types of registrations.
For example, you can configure default product numbers for time and material work, fixed price payments, expenses, mileage, allowances, and accommodation. For some data types, the product number can also be controlled by dimensions such as project type, project category, task type, hourly rate, or expense type.
This can save time in the invoicing process because TimeLog can automatically suggest or add the relevant product number to invoice lines.
Update default product numbers on non-posted registrations
If you change or add a default product number, you can use the feature for changing predefined mappings. The feature can update non-posted registrations so they use the new default product number.
This is especially relevant if you have activated new product numbers in e-conomic and want them to be used going forward on existing registrations that have not yet been invoiced or posted.
Extended expense handling
The new integration supports both export and import of expenses. You can transfer project expenses from TimeLog to a selected journal in e-conomic, including attachments, when expense export is enabled.
You can also import supplier expenses from e-conomic to TimeLog through project expense import. This makes it easier to include purchase invoices and expenses on the relevant projects in TimeLog.
Improved project integration
If the project module is enabled in e-conomic, TimeLog can transfer projects to e-conomic. You choose which project group the projects should be transferred to.
TimeLog can transfer the project name, number, customer, project status, and project manager. Once the project has been transferred to e-conomic, it can be used on purchase invoices, and the information can help allocate expenses correctly when importing them into TimeLog.
Better control of the integration
The updated integration provides more administrative options. You can temporarily disable the integration, disconnect it without losing configuration data, or reset the integration if it needs to be connected to another e-conomic agreement.
If you work with multiple legal entities in TimeLog, an integration must be created and configured for each legal entity that should be connected to an e-conomic agreement.
