Frontpage
Introduction
The TimeLog front page offers several system shortcuts. From here, you can view internal information, time registration status and detailed timesheets as well as task and milestone notifications.
Description
The TimeLog front page is divided into various blocks containing information and system shortcuts.
Click the arrow next to your name at the top of the screen and select Personal settings to add or remove info boxes.
Internal information
Use the Internal information box to post information and messages for your employees. You may also spice it up with pictures or graphics. To load the pictures, you need to do the following:
- Find or upload a picture on a website
- Right click the picture and select open in a new tab
- Right click the picture and select to copy it
- Open the internal information box to edit it, right click and select Insert picture
Navigation
To navigate the system, use the menu bar at the top of the screen. Mouse over the various menu items to expand them and select the option you want. The Reports menu is an exception. Click it to view a list of your accessible reports.
Quick search
At the end of the menu bar is the Super search for system-wide search queries. Click the Super search burger menu to search a specific part of the system. If left as is, the Super search will search the entire system, grouping results by area.
Personal settings and help
The heart icon to the left opens a list of favourites. This list includes the pages you have marked as favourites. When you are on a page you would like to mark as a favourite, simply click the heart on the right to add it to the list.
The gears icon on the right lets you access personal settings for the current page. If you are a system administrator, the gears icon also opens the system administration page.
Click the lifebuoy to view the help for the current page and the option to continue to our Help Center, where you can find help for all pages in TimeLog.
We have made it possible for you to write your own customised help texts directly in the system. You do this by clicking the icon with a question mark and a speech bubble to the right. In this way, you can help both yourself and your colleagues to get more value of using the system. You or your manager must activate this functionality in the System administration -> Employees -> User roles and rights management -> Role -> Areas -> Account and general settings -> User role privileges.
The process center in TimeLog
In TimeLog, it is possible to create processes and describe workflows. To do so, click the folder icon to the left. Here, you can explain a process step by step, e.g. how you track time. It can make the start for new employees a lot easier, and you always have the information at hand.
You can also insert personal links, if you press the human icon to the right. The principle is the same as for the processes. You enter a name and description, and insert your link under external link, if it is not a page within TimeLog.
The menu bar, processes and favourite list are always there throughout the TimeLog interface. They are handy shortcuts, eliminating the need to go back to the main menu every time.
Please give it a thumbs up or down.
